I have enjoyed the challenge & wish I could have done more. I bought reusable beeswax food wrappers & reusable produce bags. I drive my car less & have increased awareness of making sure unused lights are off. Garbage is reduced. We need composting pick up in Courtenay.

I hope many can attend this and request compost for Courtenay as well as for apartment buildings and condos throughout the Valley.

I endorsed a letter from Davis Suzuki foundation, to be sent to Canada's health & MP, calling for a complete ban on the use of neonics for pest management. We're loosing bees & other insects important to our food chain. Canada has approved the use of 2 neonics while Europe has imposed a complete ban on neonics.

Hi Karen, That's great. They work very well and Beeswax wraps are also easy to make at home. Just look it up on You Tube.

I watched a video by Rupert Read of the UK talking about climate change. The most important message I heard is that we need to stop talking about climate change & move into actions........we need to get our government leaders on board

It was so exciting to attend the Youth Environmental Action group discuss with our local politicians about their concerns regarding Climate Change yesterday. Going as far as asking that a state of Climate Emergency be considered.

What struck me most about the article on moving to plant based diets was how much I didn't realize how our eating & farming practices are impacting climate change.......

What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

Didn't use single use plastic bags when I grocery shopped today. I am going to order reusable produce bags & beeswax food covers

I am most interested in reducing use of fossil fuels & increasing use of solar energy. Also, interested in elimination of single use plastic bags by searching out reusable products.
