  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Materials Recycle Everything I Can
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?

Restart- Everyday is a new day. What you may have not accomplished the day before recycling you can always try to do today. Before being wasteful, think out your actions.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Keep Track of Wasted Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?

Maybe instead of buying large quantities of unhealthy foods buy less quantity and buy quality.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?

Weight loss and healthier eating. You are more conscious of what your eating.

I've noticed garbage on the track when I walk the track. When I walk down to the beach I've noticed new structure going up due to storm damage from 2012. I enjoyed walking the beach in the winter, its very serene, the water is beautiful.

I walk the track at the Middle School and notice all the garbage, especially water bottles left behind by the teams that play on the field. Every morning the custodians have the job of collecting all the garbage on the field. I'm considering writing to the Administration at the school and ask them to please encourage the coaches to tell their team members to please dispose of their garbage properly.
