    The simple fact that while we have made some vast improvements in our country, there is still more work to do, and this is in a "first world" area. Just thinking about and now understanding that "third world" countries have much further to go in this realm shows why education overall is important, as then an issue like this comes after basic education standards are met.

    I see a lot of food waste among my peers, something that truly drives me mad. This knowledge will help me to educate others before they simply throw things away. I always see it as an opportunity to feed someone else if you are not going to use/eat a food item.
