Food Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

There are a couple key takeaways form the label discussion that I am going to put into practice. Hearing about all the waste in our food system was disturbing. I will do my best to not over purchase food, and not throw out food as quickly as I have in the past just because of the date on the package. I will try to go shopping more frequently, so I don't over purchase, and only buy what I need. Plus, since I often walk to the grocery store, this will help me keep up on my walking goals. I also loved her tip about using your senses to know if something has gone bad - sight, smell, touch/taste. Lots of good information!

    Food Reduce Animal Products
In your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?

I honestly don't think eating meat is a bad thing. I think it's important to choose meat from animals that have been raised in sustainable ways.

I think North Americans eat more meat than people in other countries because we've developed practices that can mass produce meat in cheap (and DISGUSTING) ways.

Food Learn More about Regenerative Agriculture
Clean air, clean water and healthy food are three reasons to care about regenerative agriculture. What are some other reasons?

Regenerative agriculture results in pastures that contain more nutrients, resulting in more nutrient dense foods. A carrot grown using conventional farming practices, even it is grown organically, is not as nutritious as an organic carrot grown using regenerative agriculture practices. Not all organics are equal.
