Kathy Chavarria 4/23/2019 4:36 PMI started to finally get the hang of understanding how much food I can eat no matter the level of hunger I have. As well have I begun to notice that my leftovers are being shared with my roommates or family more unlike back then when I wouldn't really share my leftovers because in my head I would think that I was going to eat it but never did. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm more willing to prioritize having food be eaten then just sitting in my fridge. -
Kathy Chavarria 4/23/2019 4:33 PMWhat I have started to notice after going paperless was that I have begun to slowly get rid of items that I no longer need. I started to do that mostly with my clothes and books. I knew that I collected a lot of items for no real purpose other then to read them/use once and then no longer reach for them once I finished. I started to slowly remove these items into a different location in my house before actually donating them away. So I think that going paperless was just a beginning step in making a bigger step in letting things go. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Go PaperlessWhat do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?
Kathy Chavarria 4/10/2019 1:38 PMWhat I realized once going as paperless as I was possiby able to do was that we, as society, has somewhat become hoarderistic (?). We tend to keep and want materials that we either don't need or no longer need. So by doing this challenge it helped me see that I only really need a couple of items/materials than what I actually have. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Use Buy BambooAre bamboo alternatives readily available in your community? If not, what are other sustainable alternatives?
Kathy Chavarria 4/10/2019 1:32 PMI found that bamboo alternatives aren't as readily available, however I guess thanks to the internet we can gain access to alternatives more easily. This however does bring other externalities into the equation. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Smaller PortionsFun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?
Kathy Chavarria 4/10/2019 1:29 PMSome other benefits that I personally found while having smaller portion sizes is a regulation on the times I eat as well as paying more attention to the types of food that I like and dislike.
