Linda Ferreira 4/22/2019 7:21 AMWith today being Earth Day, I have challenged myself to use mostly recycled materials in the art class that I offered to teach. 3-6 and 6-9 year-olds are such a great ages to teach how you can use trash and make it beautiful and fun. I'm so looking forward to showing them how to reuse, along with reduce and recycing -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Stay on the GroundWhat was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?
Linda Ferreira 4/22/2019 6:33 AMWe decided on a staycastion . We did lots of things close to home and rode our bikes when we could instead of getting in the care. When we did get in the car we tried to maximize our time and plan a route that limited left-hand turns and stops.
We had a great time. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Use Plant TreesHow is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?
Linda Ferreira 4/22/2019 6:15 AMI'm looking forward to the fruit these trees will produce so I can make more of my own food. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Learn the Truth About Expiration DatesHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Linda Ferreira 4/18/2019 11:23 AMI was already pretty aware as I have a nutrition minor and in my nutrition classes we spend time discussing these differences. It was a nice refresher and it will help discussing this with others. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood CompostingProducing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?
Linda Ferreira 4/16/2019 11:53 AMI'm a gardner so composting is very important. I was lucky to grow up in a household who composted before it was "cool". -

Linda Ferreira 4/09/2019 4:05 PMI do not like to drive. When I am able to commute or do any type of errand by biking or walking life is good. Glad it's been so nice out and I along with my family have been able to bike more.
