  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Composting
Producing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?

Wasted land really bothers me! So much of our land is developed as cities, farms, ranches, suburbs, etc., making us lose green spaces. Undisturbed natural areas are important for wildlife, recreation, carbon sequestration, and much more!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Generation Choose Renewable Energy or Purchase Renewable Energy Credits
Your utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your zipcode, and in your state. What steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?

I can definitely be better at keeping my thermostat low and unplugging appliances when I'm done with them. I also want to insulate my home better and install new windows.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transport Use Muscle Power
How do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?

Walking to work feels so much better than driving. It's great to spend some time outside, and have a slower-paced commute helps me feel centered and prepared for the day.
