REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Use Forest-Friendly Foods 1How is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?
Amy H. 4/23/2019 6:53 PMI am eating quite a lot of palm oil, and quite a lot of dairy products. I will try to drink water and less milk. Also, I will try to not eat a lot of chocolate. I never new that chocolate effects the environment! l will also look at my snacks and teII my mom if l see palm oil in my snack so that she will not buy it.-

Amy H. 4/12/2019 6:43 PMI watched a video about methane digesters. -
Amy H. 4/10/2019 6:03 PMI am saving energy by instead of turning on the light I open my curtain and it is practically the exact same brightness! I also reduce plastic waste by challenging myself to see how much toothpaste I can use before it runs out!-
Andy Hampton 4/10/2019 7:32 PMWell done Amy!! -
Amy H. 4/10/2019 6:35 PMWhoops! I just researched are Tim Horton's cups recyclable and it said yes but not everywhere!
-
-
Amy H. 4/10/2019 5:53 PMBefore, my teacher put Tim Hortons coffee cups in the recycling. But then I saw him doing that and I told him where it was supposed to go and now he puts it in the right place!🗑🗑🗑✔♻️♻️♻️❌-
Amy H. 4/11/2019 4:14 PMOh. Wow!😀😀😀 -
Terry Faubert 4/10/2019 10:01 PMIn BC, these coffee cups are recyclable. Between compostable and recyclable items, very little is left over for landfill. We even recycle ballpoint pens and felt markers here! -
Andy Hampton 4/10/2019 7:40 PMYou are right Amy, they can't be recycled in York Region. When you Googled it the answer was from the Tim Hortons web site, so of course they will try to say that the cups can be recycled.
But for York Region, click on (or copy) the ridiculously long link below and scroll to "What is Not Accepted" and you'll see it mentions paper coffee cups.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Learn More about SilvopastureHad you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?
Amy H. 4/05/2019 4:06 PMI have never heard of silvopasture before. After I have learned about it, I think that the biggest advantage of silvopasture is that the trees absorbs more of cow farts than without trees.-
Amy H. 4/07/2019 4:04 PMThe trees absorbs carbon dioxide which cancels out most of the methane gas that the cows farts. -
Chloe Wang🐱🐈 4/07/2019 12:47 PMWhat do you mean by " I think that the biggest advantage of silvopasture is that the trees absorbs more of cow farts than without trees." I'm a little confused.
