How do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?

I feel like walking effects us a little less on campus just because everyone walks everywhere, and it is so easier to walk on our campus because it is so small. I do also like walking because sometimes you catch your friends between classes and get to say hi. I dont think walking compared to driving is any different for me except for the time I save driving. I still listen to music while I walk or drive to kill the time and make it more enjoyable. The one thing I do love about walking is seeing my fitbit go off when I reach me step goal!

List some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

I travel for classes a lot around campus (ie to the falcon center and back) and I always offer to drive with my classmates. When it comes to my friends we like to go out to eat in Hudson so we always carpool there. It is easier to carpool on campus too because some of my friends dont have a car so if we want to go somewhere we are forced to carpool.

In your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?

I feel like we eat more meat just because of how large and how many farms there are in the states. I feel like when you look at our way of living from a third world countries perspective we would seem frivolous, because they might not have the means to get meat and farm on the scale we do.

I think that North Americans eat more meat than any other country because we have a lot of farmland for animals and we are a free country, so we have a choice wether to eat meat or not. I think a big one is also the fact that our portion sizes are huge, just like we used to have Super Sizes At Mc Donald’s and other restaurants. We like to think bigger is better in society and we tend to think that food is a good thing and that we should eat it all of the time. It can be a good thing, however, I think we all need to work on actually knowing the real portion sizes.

How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
