My challenges are going very simple right now.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Materials Eliminate Toxic Plastics
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

This is really easy for me, we use a lot of plastic containers but my mom likes to reuse them, instead of like throwing it away people can just wash and reuse containers for other purposes.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transport Use Muscle Power
How do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?

    Kevin Ma's avatar
    Kevin Ma 4/11/2019 10:05 AM
It helps me by getting more used to the public and outside community. My experience differs in a way that I get to see more things in our community that makes me become aware of stuff around me
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transport Try Carpooling
List some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

I carpool a lot with my friends and I only take them home and also, I don't really go anywhere so I avoid a lot of pollution.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Materials Recycle Everything I Can
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?

We recycle bottles all the time, so we can get our cash back that we paid for deposit. We also reuse paper bags because my mom really likes saving money and bags.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Buildings and Cities Plan to Insulate
What are some of the benefits of making your home more energy efficient?

    Kevin Ma's avatar

My house is insulated, and we don't have it on most of the time, my family is used to 62 degrees in our house, and we keep it that low due to the fact that we have always been like that, so we don't use too much energy and we like cooler environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Use Buy Bamboo
Are bamboo alternatives readily available in your community? If not, what are other sustainable alternatives?

My family uses bamboo chopsticks and cutting boards because they are super strong, and like easy to wash, my mom doesn't like using plastic because it's bad for your health and breaks easier which is bad to consume, we mainly only use chopsticks in our house, and we always use reusable glass bowls and we wash them every day, we rarely eat so we don't really use too much water.
