How could better walking infrastructure make your city both more enjoyable and more equitable?

Our city has such varied levels of walkability; some parts of our neighborhood don't even have paved sidewalks, while others seem to receive regular upgrades without apparent need. We need to press the city to prioritize the addition of walkable pathways in the most challenged areas.
