Over the last two days, I was able to read and today post about a lot of these events that have occurred. Though some of my post are not large and over whelming, they allow me to show that my family and myself are trying.

I've ridden my bike to the grocery store twice this week, regardless of weather. Its been great because I've popped my daughter into the trailer along with our groceries and I've been able to give our self peace and exercise, but decreased a small portion of car transport.

I just purchased a back up Bamboo toothbrush and the current one I have (the old one ) I will be using as a planting pot cleaner. This will help me to reuse my old toothbrush verse throwing it away.

I keep going back to this topic, because I truly love it. Its so easy and I just had never heard about it prior. I am trying to do this in a smaller capacity for my chickens. Verse using hay or cedar chips, I'm trying to bulk up smaller trees and shrubs in their area to allow them to in turn, turn the soil and earth. I
I've been planting native grasses and wheat's, quarantining it from them, then allowing them to forage once its up. I have a few lavender plants that survived from the pass season and have planted a few berry shrubs to assist.

Food Keep Track of Wasted Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?

I feel like I can pair this up on two topics! I just purchased a compost tumbler. I will post some images of it while adding in my new chicken compost dirt this week!

This was a great read- I always feel that I don't waste a lot, until that time.. when I'm throwing something away and had intention to make a great dinner with that product. Its terrible and I feel awful. Though I give a lot of my waste to my chickens, and they score from it... its still not what my family wants. We are trying to buy product for each dinner daily. Then if we have left overs- we focus on that!

I've been researching other methods of materials that my family can use instead of woods and plastics. Bamboo is a product that we are trying to use more frequently throughout the home. Straw, plates, cups, toothbrushes, hair brushes...even dental floss!

I don't keep track of my wasted food, but it goes noticed! We have four chicken that we love and that we give green products to an wasted veggies and fruits. We keep track of what we give them along with what they don't eat. It sounds silly, but if we don't love a certain veggie and don't in turn eat it at dinner, and we give it to our chickens, who also don't love it- we try to avoid it because we the "entire" family wont eat it.
