    Food Reduce Animal Products
In your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?

I think eating meat is normalized, as in “a meal is not complete without meat” way of thinking. Also that meat is a good source of protein even though there are many more sustainable sources on the market. I think this way of living certainly contributes to the “way it has always been” mentality without much reflection of how this food came to be part of my diet and how it got to be on my plate.

Great reflection! Are you inspired to create more meals with sustainable plant-based proteins? Here's a resource if you need it... https://www.foodmatters.com/article/top-6-plant-based-proteins

Are bamboo alternatives readily available in your community? If not, what are other sustainable alternatives?

Bamboo alternatives are not necessarily readily available in my community, you just have to know where to look. Other sustainable alternatives to one time use plastic utensils would simply be bringing along metal cutlery from home. Therefore you’re not spending money on something you already have.

    Food Support Local Food Systems
Dependable fresh food, supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these (or other) advantages inspire you the most?

It’s hard to pick just one! Fresh food is important to me just like supporting the people who grow it. All of these actions feed into creating a community who support and are inspired by one another.
