Well done, Sue! If you've reduced/eliminated animal products from your diet, be sure to supplement with vitamin B-12.

Transport Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle

reducing my carbon footprint, helping reduce air pollution and all the things that are affecting climate change
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?

smaller plates help me to not overeat and notice more what I am eating... becoming more mindful of my food intake and be aware of my greed when I want to take more.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Composting
Producing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?

    Sue Rempel 's avatar
    Sue Rempel 4/10/2019 9:42 PM
What motivates me most is water used to grow the food that goes to waste and the land taken for my wasted food that could be fed to others who are hungry.

it is another way to use less energy and help to reduce my carbon footprint.   I am researching solar panels and have 3 different companies coming to give me bids.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

I notice the birds singing... and trees beginning to blossom.   I could smell the lilacs blooming.   It is spring and things are beginning to bud.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Reduce Animal Products
In your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?

I think people are caught in the marketing by the meat industry that we must eat meat.  I have decided to eat only plant based (cruelty-free, I like to call it) diet now.
I also want to teach others about the benefist to our earth by eating a plant based diet.
