While I may not have completed many challenges or done much in actuality, the research I did taught me about multiple things I hadn't known before, and that is what I hoped for when taking part in this.

Much of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?

Even if I live far away from a peatland I can advocate for the conservation and restoration of them, and spread word of their importance.

My consumption of coffee, meat, dairy, and eggs impact deforestation to start. As much as I care for the environment, I'm not going vegan so the best I can hope to do in regard to the last three is decrease my consumption I suppose. As for coffee, I plan to once I live on my own only drink shade grown coffee, and I have been trying to inform others of the impacts of regular coffee farms since I learned of shade grown beans in highschool. I will continue to do so.

I'm sorry Gabbie if this doesn't notify you, I can't seem to find an option to reply to you directly. Shade grown beans are coffee beans grown without or with as minimal impact on the surrounding plant life as possible. With regular coffee farms they clear cut forests to make space for their trees. Shade farms significantly reduce the impact on the ecosystem not only because of the preservation of habitats (through leaving the existing ones uncut or by replicating/imitating them with the trees they plant), but because of the pesticides and other impacts sun grown beans have. I haven't done much research on that side of things so I can't say for certain what I'm sorry.
