Electricity Generation Learn More About Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?

because i am not in a point in my life where i can afford to decide to put geothermal in my future home so the ways that i can help is to know as much as i can about it and try to advocate for it.

single use straws are one of the things that i use the most that could be eliminated from my personal waste stream. i have looked at reusable straws just have never gotten one and think that i would face problems remembering to carry it with me all the time

i worked on a farm one summer that was organic so they relied on a lot of the practices that are outlined in this concept. so these practices give small and organic farms the ability to keep their fields well supplied with nutrients so that they can continue to grow. there is also a strong belief that things that are grown in these practices taste better than ones that are grown using pesticides.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?

eating smaller portions is important for weight loss especially in a country like america where weight and weight related health problems are such a problem.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Learn More about Silvopasture
Had you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?

i had not heard the name silvopasture before but i have heard the concept talked about as far as people using it. i think that the benefits are two fold because there there is benefit for people who are farming on the land because it saves them time and money not having to spend money to cut the trees to make pastureland and the environment benefits. because the animals help keep the land managed.

Food Keep Track of Wasted Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?

as a soon to be college graduate i realize the importance of saving as much money as possible and food waste is an easy way to cut expenses. if i had an extra 1500 dollars a year i would spend it on paying back school loans
