My challenge is going great right now. Participating in this challenge has really been a stress reliever system for me, so when I have a couple of spare minutes I will come and complete my challenges and finish them feeling good about what I learned and somewhat excited to try and get use out of the information.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Learn More about Regenerative Agriculture
Clean air, clean water and healthy food are three reasons to care about regenerative agriculture. What are some other reasons?

Other reasons to care about regenerative agriculture is because of the way it strives to reduce carbon output by having it captured in the soil or above ground biomass. With one farmer, this may not be that big of a difference but even if half of the farmers on this Earth practiced this, CO2 could be decreased by a noticeable percent.

Women and Girls Support Women-Owned Businesses
Globally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. How can you better support communities by supporting women? Can you share any past experiences that may help others take action?

By better supporting the women in the community, it will cause our community as a whole to grow stronger. Ways that I have taken action for this is that I buy clothes made by other college girls that are trying to start their own retailing business.

Food Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

Knowing the difference between these things will help consumers know when they don't need to throw their food away and when sellers should take their food off the shelf.

    Food Learn More about Silvopasture
Had you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?

No, I have never heard of the term silvopasture before. I think the biggest advantage of this technique is that it has multiple advantages within it. For example, if you keep livestock on your land and perform silvopasture, the trees in the field are increasing infiltration, providing shade from their canapes, and provide protein for the livestock from their falling acorns/seeds.

My challenge is going awesome. I love having all of these challenges to learn about things I am interested in and things I've never even heard of. It was great learning what silvopasture even meant and how it helps with land/live stock because my boyfriend is really into that kind of thing and he was so excited to learn about it with me.
