When living in New York, we always took the Metro or rode a bike. In Arizona they only had buses until they installed the lightrail, so you tried to be wise in the trips you would take. Now here in Washington, I take the ferry, the Link Lightrail and I walk to work and I really don't mind it takes me an 1.25 hr. to get to work. I feel good that I am trying to do my part.

My grandfather used to capture rain water in a wine barrrel to grow his vegetable garden, also to make his wine. Low flow toilet or shower head, turn the water off when brushing your teeth and do a check on all your taps for leaks.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?
