  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Transport Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle
Reducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?

The most obvious is the fuel savings,  But honestly for me a bicycle makes more sense for my daily driver

Last day.  There is still time left to get in some of those one time challenges!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

    Ryan Workman's avatar
    Ryan Workman 4/24/2019 8:18 AM
It helps me not throw out things that are still good, even though they are "expired"
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Generation Learn More about Wave and Tidal Energy
What did you learn about wave and tidal energy? Were you surprised by the information you found?

    Ryan Workman's avatar
    Ryan Workman 4/23/2019 2:14 PM
I was surprised how little energy the existing and expensive projects actually produce.

Asphalt?  It looks like the National Asphalt Pavement Association has a sustainability report.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Walking bring life to a neighborhood like rain to the desert.  Continuous sidewalks would make it better.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Generation Learn More about Micro Wind
Micro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?

    Ryan Workman 4/17/2019 12:36 PM
The Citizen's building is the tallest, but the wind potential here is not very high.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Buildings and Cities Research Retrofitting Incentives
How can you share what you have learned in your research with others?

    Ryan Workman's avatar
    Ryan Workman 4/15/2019 8:13 AM
Not a lot of incentives that I could find for updating underfloor insulation in my home.  The local utility has one but the state and federal ones have all expired.
