REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Mulch the Base of Trees and PlantsName some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?
Phillip Wright 4/10/2019 6:04 AMStorm runoff picks up trash, oils, and other toxic chemicals that might be on the roads. As someone who has well water, I want to make sure the water I am getting is clean and potable. Globally, trash in oceans is a big problem. The negative impacts on marine animals and the overall amount of trash that gathers on shorelines is horrible. Everyone needs to do their part to help save the earth and its inhabitants in whatever way we can. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Go PaperlessWhat do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?
Phillip Wright 4/10/2019 5:59 AMI would like to prioritize minimalism, cleanliness, and order instead of having (and keeping) all sorts of material things that I don't even use and cause clutter. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Recycle Everything I CanHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Phillip Wright 4/10/2019 5:57 AMI have hard well water at my house, so we usually have bottled water available at home. I also reuse water bottles by refilling from a larger 5 gallon water supply connected to the fridge. It's not the best to use plastic water bottles, but we do our best to recycle everything we can. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric VehicleReducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?
Phillip Wright 4/10/2019 5:46 AMNow that electric vehicles are becoming cooler (i.e. Tesla), the appeal for having one is something that is growing on me. The benefits of having a more fuel-efficient vehicle on top of having a nice/fun to drive car are definitely factors that will come into play next time I'm looking to purchase a vehicle. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Use Public TransitHow has your access to various kinds of transporation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
Phillip Wright 4/10/2019 5:43 AMNow that I live in the suburbs, I rely on the commuter rail to get me into and out of the city. This means I don't have to sit in hours of traffic, slowly crawling down the road! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Conduct Virtual MeetingsHow can you ensure that your virtual meetings honor your values and your company's culture?
Phillip Wright 4/10/2019 5:43 AMWebEx/GoToMeetings are the norm for projects that I have been working on. It is easy, convenient, and helps to be able to have quick meetings when needed to resolve issues. -
