Mary Abrahams 4/23/2019 11:02 AMAfter we went on our nature walk yesterday, I was interested in looking up the eco challenges surrounding planting trees and anything having to do with deforestation. I found a challenge devoted to planting a certain amount of trees. I decided that in honor of Earth Day planting a tree in my yard at home would be a nice way to do my part in saving the earth one step at a time. We now have a new tree planted in my back yard! -
Mary Abrahams 4/22/2019 1:14 PMI encouraged my job to reuse a lot of our paper waste. More often then not a lot our boxes and bags end up in the trash, and I have noticed they are not going in the proper bin, so rather than being recycled they are just being thrown out. We have begun to reuse our boxes for storage in our backroom, rather than just throwing them away. We have also become more aware about where our garbage is going, and paid more attention to ensuring our boxes and bags have been going to the recycling. -
Mary Abrahams 4/15/2019 4:04 PMIve been making sure to use smaller portions of food when having meals, and I’ve been helping my mom when cooking to make less food, so there’s no so much waste afterwords, since our leftovers usually sit in our fridge and end up in the garbage. This change is helping!-
Caitlin Franklin 4/15/2019 6:06 PMIt is more common than I think when it comes to leftovers! I am one of six in my family, and more often than never, we always have leftovers- and then they never get eaten. It is such a waste, and when I watch my mom throw them in the garbage, it just makes me annoyed. Such a waste of money! Now that I am more aware, I try to eat leftovers on the nights that I am home late, or become more conscious on bringing them to work with me and eating them! Every little change helps.

Mary Abrahams 4/10/2019 5:48 AMThe challenges are going well! A lot of them, such as carpooling and going paperless with bills and subscriptions, I already do so that helps! Some are harder to start than others, but really once you get started, they become easier and part of your routine!
