REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsIn your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?
Juni Anderson 4/08/2019 7:15 AMI think people eat more meat in America because they eat more fast food and maybe they think meat is cheaper, even though that's not necessarily true. It's also more convenient to go to McDonald's for a hamburger than go to the farmers market and make a salad. I think people liking the taste also plays a role, but not enough to make as big of an impact as it has. Meat is also a big part of American culture, like barbecues and super bowl wings and turkey and every holiday has a reason for meat, so some may think its impossible to stop, but I think a better approach is to get people to eat less meat instead of trying to make them quit altogether. It can be hard to quit because it may be someone's favorite meal and that's a lot to give up forever.
