I am so excited my kids were discussing how we need to take more of an active role in protecting our planet bc of something I had sent them the day before by email. That led to discussions on things I’ve already learned and plan to continue to pursue.  It’s so great to see my kids digesting what is happening to our world and how we can have an impact one human life at a time.

Did you know that the fish we eat has particles of plastic in it bc that’s what they are eating and engulfed with in their environment?!

I watched "A Plastic Ocean" film the other day and saw that. So sad! Wildlife is eating and dying because of plastics, we eat plastics...There's plastic everywhere.

We have been successfully preventing a great deal of food waste in our home with leftover night and just being creative on different ways to use produce before it goes bad.  It’s great to raise this awareness with my children now so they start thinking about it for their today and future.

Using my tea bags and coffee grinds more than once and saving them to use in gardening when I plant my flowers.  These little measures and tricks are so easy and fun to know you’re making a better footprint on the world!

@Maria- it really is just getting used to it and once you do it’s easy.  As a kid growing up we always had leftover nights.  Not to mention I have done whole 30 and it’s the same getting used to eating vegetables at breakfast but now I love it!

Learning the amount of food wasted due to expiration confusion in the world was astonishing!
