REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Susan Bardel 4/24/2019 5:20 PMWe have built a maker space in our basement for our kids. They constantly pull things from our recycling to use in the maker space.

REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationWhat does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?
Susan Bardel 4/24/2019 5:15 PMA sustainable community is one in which neighbors are friends with neighbors and a sense of trust and safety is inherent in your day to day. In order for this to happen people will need to learn to communicate without feeling challenged and to think about the whole instead of just the self. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Social JusticeWhy is it important that girls have equal access to education in order to reduce our global greenhouse gas emissions?
Susan Bardel 4/24/2019 5:04 PMEvery person needs to be educated in the effects our daily actions have on our environment. Without access to proper education girls cannot be part of the solution.-
Harrison Bardel 4/24/2019 5:12 PMAlso the percentage of girls plus the percentage of boys will make a great impact into this activity.

REFLECTION QUESTIONLand UseWhat did you learn about indigenous peoples' land management that you can apply in your own life?
Susan Bardel 4/23/2019 2:15 PMThe talk we had was more about the impact indigenous people had to the area. We heard a lot about the importance of what were called fire islands. Many of our east coast cities grew in locations important to local tribes. They all have a river with a waterfall, an island, a tributary, and important trails leading to and away. It was very interesting and will lend itself to interesting conversations. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand UseHow is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?

Susan Bardel 4/15/2019 3:06 PMBuying things for kids’ Easter baskets today and found myself thinking hard about what to buy. Usually put toys and trinkets but I know they usually end up being a one time thing and eventually would end up in the landfill. Decided against buying them!-
Susan Bardel 4/24/2019 5:42 PMSometimes I have to buy things for the Easter Bunny to put in your basket. He doesn’t always know what you’d like. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodFun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?
