Beth Beek Blackford 4/03/2019 11:11 AMGreetings everyone! Looking forward to learning from our Team Blog as well as from my own research on various topics, especially WRT composting systems. Our county recycling program is in chaos due to abysmal public education and lack of will by elected leaders. We desperately need a large composting facility, but there are so many barriers to entry for businesses. Some smaller communities are attempting volunteer programs, so at least there's a glimmer of hope. Any thoughts or suggestions? -
Beth Beek Blackford 3/27/2019 6:21 PMHey team captains Liz Zavodsky & David Macek: I need some motivation! Tell us what this challenge from Seton Hall Uni is all about! -
Beth Beek Blackford 3/14/2019 10:15 AMI recently made a new friend while on vacation in Mexico. She runs several BnB guesthouses as well as an upscale restaurant - a remarkable ball of energy! What's more, she has organized plastic bottle recycling in her little coastal town by engaging children and their mothers, primarily. Slowly but surely they are making a difference among the local population of fishermen and shop owners, but there's still a long way to go.
She's inspired me, and I've already given her links to some resources I know of first-hand that will help her with her goals. And I'm wondering about inviting her to participate in this Drawdown EcoChallenge, but thinking it might be too technical and confusing for a first-timer. Maybe she'd be more successful with the regular October EcoChallenge, and would have plenty of time to plan for it. Not sure if there will be a language problem. Any thoughts out there? -
Beth Beek Blackford 2/14/2019 8:27 AMThis is my 2nd time enrolling in the Drawdown Challenge, and I am feeling better prepared to research my tasks more carefully to sustain my actions. I am also inviting key friends to give it a try so they will spread the word!
