Eike Behrens 4/08/2019 9:04 PMMy current diet seems to have a rather negative impact on deforestation and I need to be more aware of what's inside of some of the everyday products I use. For example making sure to avoid products that are made out of palm oil.-
Charles White 4/09/2019 9:20 AMEike,
I learned about this last year! It's so hard because palm oil and its derivatives are in practically EVERYTHING. Almost any processed food that needs some kind of preservation likely has palm oil in it. I have found that taking the time to prepare my own food from raw ingredients gives me more control over my impact.
Now, coffee on the other hand? That's the tough one for me.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Eike Behrens 4/03/2019 8:22 PMI regularly used coffee/tea cups and just recently purchased a tumbler that I use instead when going to a coffeeshop.
