    Materials Recycle Everything I Can
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?

I know that repurposing plastic and glass containers keeps them out of the landfill.  It makes me feel like I am helping the earth.

I'm also keen on that Arlene!

Rachel, there is a "Fixit Cafe" happening at The Spool Sewing Studio in Courtenay on April 27. Free mending workshops! I'm planning on going, maybe I'll see you there :)

My friend gave me a sewing machine and I am very excited about repairing clothes instead of throwing them out. I feel like the older clothes were better quality so its win win to just repair or refit clothing.

    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?

For me smaller food portions would mean better digestion.  For my husband it could mean weight loss.....or at least a pause when he finishes the plateful might make him realize he's already full.  Eating more slowly also helps  me to feel satisfied with one plateful.
