Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Alice Bernheimer 4/24/2019 4:21 AMI think it is important to do this, because a lot of people think hat they are only one person littering, and it won't do much, but that's not true, because if everyone thinks that, there is a lot more pollution in the world, and you should just go to a garbage can that is probably close by. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationWhat is the most exciting solution you explored? Why is it exciting to you?
Alice Bernheimer 4/23/2019 5:04 PMI liked the wind turbines because they are simple, but very effective. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportHow do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?
Alice Bernheimer 4/23/2019 5:03 PMInstead of driving somewhere that is close, I usually walk, and I like to go on walks even though I get allergies, you can see more things walking then being in a car. Also, I like photography, so I ca take more photos when I'm walking. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationMicro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?
Alice Bernheimer 4/23/2019 5:01 PMIf they were installed, people would reduce the amount of electricity they use, because they would be getting their electricity from the wind. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportList some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?
Alice Bernheimer 4/23/2019 5:00 PMI go to an art class with my friend, and we usually carpool to the class, and it helps because cars pollute the earth and when you carpool, you reduce the pollution because instead of 2 or more cars, you only use one. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodFun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?
Alice Bernheimer 4/23/2019 4:58 PMSome of the benefits are being able to help the environment because if we use smaller portions, we waste less food and that food people can donate to people who need it, instead of trowing it out. Also, most people don't compost, so it goes to the landfill and pollutes the earth. -
Alice Bernheimer 4/23/2019 4:51 PMI want to help the earth because we probably don't have that much time to make a difference, and if we don't help now, we get even closer to the day global warming totally takes over and we're all doomed.
