This eco challenge has been a great way to motivate me to get composting, make my home more energy efficient and simple things - like figuring out how to use less plastic when grocery shopping and packing the kids' lunches.

I did the free NYSERDA home energy audit and want to encourage everyone to sign up. The blower door tool is especially fun to explain to the kids - it measures how leaky your house is in terms of leaking heat in the winter and cool in the summer! Collin, who is our local community organizer for the program said I could share his info: cda37@cornell.edu

I did the free nyserda energy audit, where they did the door blower test and inspected the whole house. It was great to hear recommendations from an expert. One of the things I need to do is finish insulation in the attic and around the foundation.

We need to do that.  Time to stop the denial and get the house tightened up
