Norah Bolton 4/25/2019 12:19 PMJust wanted to add - both Josh Matlow and Mike Layton responded the next day when I wrote them - and said they appreciated the support. We forget that these and other politicians generally get negative mail. After this is over let's continue giving positive support. -
Norah Bolton 4/24/2019 6:11 PMThis was a great activity and I learned a great deal in the process. None of it was too hard and it's good to see both group and individual accomplishments. My only regret is that I didn't encourage more people to do so. I hope another challenge happens in 2019. Thanks to all for your participation, encouragement and high fives! -
Norah Bolton 4/23/2019 3:01 PMSome of the future transportation options are really interesting . . . -
Norah Bolton 4/19/2019 6:30 PMWalking in a different part of town. At one point tried to hop on a streetcar on Spadina. After having three come that were too full to enter, I gave up and walked much further. Toronto definitely needs more public transit. -
Norah Bolton 4/15/2019 6:53 PMOn my walk saw signs on a new condo indicating that buyers' children might not get places at the nearest local schools. Shows the need for planning that involves a number of stakeholders. -
Norah Bolton 4/14/2019 6:48 PMVisited a store today that encourages customers to bring their own packaging or they will sell you things to carry it in. I bought a half dozen small cotton bags to replace baggies in the fridge. Will see how this works out. -
Norah Bolton 4/10/2019 6:03 PMI suspect most of us don't know which plastic containers and wraps are the worst. This would probably be a good "awareness" challenge. Since I did not avoid buying something in a container, I can't check off this one today - but I have identified a store at Dundas and Dovercourt that sells reusable ones to replace all those baggies. Amazon has some too. On my to-do list! -
Norah Bolton 4/10/2019 4:24 AMThe good thing about this process is the building of awareness. Having to decide every day builds that. -
Norah Bolton 4/04/2019 2:11 PMEnjoyed writing to my provincial MPP to support farm land - and included this article from Alternatives Journal

Norah Bolton 4/03/2019 6:50 PMI met the daily challenge on a couple of these - an not sure whether they will come back every day or whether I have to wait until the end of the Drawdown so have not marked them But I did spend the entire day at the Building a Post-Carbon World symposium - and also heard a lecture by Bill McKibben-
Andrea Stephens 4/04/2019 2:52 PMHi Norah! The daily challenges will come back everyday, so hit that challenge button each & everyday you accomplish the challenge! The one-time challenge you choose only once during the three weeks.
A few of us from DrawdownTO were at the conference as well - I hope you liked the DD talk!
