  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Composting
Producing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?

i compost at home and it changes my behavior becuase i use it in my garden and it helps fertilize and we arent wasting our food and letting it decompose into methane

Excellent Haydn.  Your family is already practicing some effective solutions to reduce the emissions of methane into the atmosphere.  Methane has a global warming potential (GWP) that is about 28 - 36 times greater than carbon dioxide.   The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is the global body of scientists working together to keep track of this information.  They keep a list of all GHG GWPs.

How are environmental issues like black carbon and other emissions from cooking fires or rudimentary cookstoves also human health and social justice issues? Why do these issues matter to you?
