REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Use Restore WetlandsHow do wetlands differ from other ecosystems -- both in the services they offer and in your personal experience of them?
Haydn Bourgeois 4/16/2019 11:05 AMwetlands are different from other ecosystems because is home to snakes aligators and mud crabs and if we dont restore these wetlands thses animals wont have a home-
Mr McNally 4/18/2019 11:17 AMWetlands are unique habitats for special organisms which are only found there like the ones you have identified. In addition, wetlands are becoming an important ecosystem for carbon sequestration as the soil reservoir can store carbon for long periods of time. REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Stay on the GroundWhat was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?
Haydn Bourgeois 4/16/2019 11:03 AMi can avoid more air travel in the future by using my car and or my bike -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood CompostingProducing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?
Haydn Bourgeois 4/16/2019 10:53 AMi compost at home and it changes my behavior becuase i use it in my garden and it helps fertilize and we arent wasting our food and letting it decompose into methane-
Mr McNally 4/18/2019 11:24 AMExcellent Haydn. Your family is already practicing some effective solutions to reduce the emissions of methane into the atmosphere. Methane has a global warming potential (GWP) that is about 28 - 36 times greater than carbon dioxide. The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is the global body of scientists working together to keep track of this information. They keep a list of all GHG GWPs.
