My husband and I are choosing to drive to Chicago from Detroit for an upcoming even ton April 17, 2019. This will reduce airline fuel usage which is a major polluter and very expensive.

We thought about it and noted that we will help the environment and have a more intimate visit with each other during the car ride.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?

I bought small plates for our family Easter celebration and even smaller plates for the desserts. Eating smaller portions will help all of us keep in prime shape and maintain a healthy weight for our age. This will keep us in better moods and create a happier family atmosphere for everyone.

I planted a tree from a seedling that grew in my friend's back yard in a place in my yard that will provide shade in the summer months in the future. It makes me feel good that I won't have to use the air conditioning as much. Mentally, I feel more efficient.

I have a function in Chicago with my alumni association and we have decided to drive and will to be flying. I am happy to reduce costly air miles.
