I just decided to give a monthly donation to the Nature Conservancy! I already give money to Greenpeace and the provincial and federal Green Parties, so I'm well covered on the political advocacy front. But I needed to give $ to an organization that is directly engaged in the work of conservation and protection of our shared lands. Plus, I'm happy to give up take-out pizza for good (in exchange, since I'm on a limited budget). I figure that's two birds, one stone. Take-out pizza boxes are rarely recyclable since the grease prevents facilities from recycling them.
