REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Choose Recycled PaperGood job on choosing recycled paper! How can you take your action a step further?
Samantha Chalet 4/24/2019 9:20 AMThere are other material items that consumers can purchase aside from recycled paper. For example, we use cups made from recycled goods. This reduces the carbon footprint of utilizing plastic cups from big industries. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Go PaperlessWhat do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?
Samantha Chalet 4/24/2019 9:10 AMMaterial goods have been an 'essential' part of life now a days; however, it should be noted that we as humans need to digress from that stigma. They are not necessities. I think we need to prioritize putting down the material things and spend more time outside. We need to be in the presence of each other with each other. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Advocate For Greener VehiclesHow does advocating for green vehicles in your community connect to your values? How might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the shift to fuel-efficient vehicles?
Samantha Chalet 4/24/2019 6:34 AMI think the one thing that has really become a detrimental factor to the earth is cars that are not environmentally friendly. I have an environmentally friendly car and I always advocate for people to do the same. It also benefits the driver as it saves gas money for them. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Use Plant TreesHow is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?
Samantha Chalet 4/24/2019 6:30 AMTrees are important for human well being as it brings a sense of serenity to us, aside from the typical oxygen it helps provide. Planting trees can be seen as a therapeutic practice as well. It does a service for us and the earth. -
Samantha Chalet 4/23/2019 6:54 AMGreat! I've saved 90 miles not traveled by car so far -
Samantha Chalet 4/11/2019 6:24 AMSo far, I have been more active this week for the eco challenge. The goal is to continue to be active and conscious of eco friendly actions. I will look through more categories and find different actions to participate in -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Recycle Everything I CanHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Samantha Chalet 4/10/2019 7:56 AMThe first step could be to get a bigger Recycling bin. I already have one at my house but when it gets filled quickly my siblings start throwing things in the garbage. I think that if we purchase a larger one there's more room to recycle and no need to throw things out. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Try CarpoolingList some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?
Samantha Chalet 4/09/2019 6:32 AMI usually carpool to the grocery store with my brother. We wait for each other to come home from work and then leave together instead of meeting each other there with 2 cars -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and Cities Go for a Daily WalkWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Samantha Chalet 4/09/2019 6:30 AMNature and the trees and birds around me. It would be more enjoyable if I brought others with me to enjoy the walks and also get them to inspire others -
Samantha Chalet 4/04/2019 6:30 AMSo far I have 113 points by the end of this week i would like to have over 150
