Molly Cobb 4/06/2019 8:31 AMAnother’s thing that I’ve noticed from walking is that the crosswalks aren’t located in the most convenient places, if they were in more accessible places, it would encourage walking. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWomen and GirlsGlobally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. How can you better support communities by supporting women? Can you share any past experiences that may help others take action?
Molly Cobb 4/04/2019 6:27 PMI think that in the Chapel Hill and Carrboro, there are many places that advertise the fact that they are run by women, however, people can definitely find more ways to buy from women-owned businesses. Some of those ways are by doing things like shopping at small, local businesses and buying directly from the sources of their companies. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand UseHow is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?
Molly Cobb 4/03/2019 5:56 PMA few years ago, I chose to become vegetarian. At that point, I wasn’t thinking about the environmental benefits, but after researching it, I realize the effects that meat and animal farms have on things like water sources and the air. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and CitiesWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Molly Cobb 4/03/2019 4:40 PMMy neighborhood has quite a few bike lanes and sidewalks which make my walks very nice. However, I think that as you walk or bike further out, the paths and bike lanes get more sporadic. If these were extended to the main parts of Chapel Hill and Carrboro, I think walking would be more enjoyable people would be encouraged to bike and walk to main locations.
