  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
How are environmental issues like black carbon and other emissions from cooking fires or rudimentary cookstoves also human health and social justice issues? Why do these issues matter to you?

    George Creel's avatar
    George Creel 4/24/2019 8:15 AM
These are human health issues because of the amount of air pollution that is caused and it is making it hard for people to breathe naturally, especially in places like China.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How does environmental quality influence your sense of community?

    George Creel's avatar
    George Creel 4/24/2019 7:57 AM
The better quality of the environment, the more likely I am to go partake in communal things outdoors, opposed to being inside away from the community.

If you're doing one meat meal a day, make sure you make it chicken fingers at the caf today! Enjoy!

Only one meat meal a day is going to be tough, but chicken fingers in the caf definitely helps!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
In your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?

    George Creel's avatar

This shows that we do not care what we take in each day into our bodies. We just eat to satisfy ourselves.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transport
List some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

    George Creel's avatar
    George Creel 4/03/2019 10:16 AM
I travel to school each day. Virtually, I could carpool everyday if I chose to.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of eating smaller portions?

    George Creel's avatar
    George Creel 4/03/2019 10:14 AM
You take in less calories, so it can help with regulating your weight.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?

    George Creel's avatar
    George Creel 4/03/2019 10:13 AM
I would rather use this money to support organizations that help people who can barely get any food.
