  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?

I would rather use this money on ways to better my surroundings with sustainable options. For example, implementing a compost bin or planting more plants that are native to my area.  Rather than my money be wasted and thrown out.

How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?

I could incorporate other R's by, opening myself up to forming new habits. I would love to repurpose more items, rather than recycling them all. Instead of a door being recycled, I could make it into a table or a shelf.  Through that pratcice I would feel more creative and happy to not be contributing to landfills.

Recycling is easy when it comes to paper, other materials are a bit harder. Some require being dropped off at various businesses.
