  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Keep Track of Wasted Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?

I would use this money to travel to and explore National Parks with my family. I've never been to one and I'd love to donate to keep them clean and protected.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Women and Girls Support Women-Owned Businesses
Globally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. How can you better support communities by supporting women? Can you share any past experiences that may help others take action?

I can better support my community by supporting women by donating clothes and feminine products to women's shelters. Recently I went through my wardrobe and took out any clothes that were lightly worn and I knew I would not wear again and started making a pile that I could donate to a local women's shelter. If anyone knows of any shelters around New Paltz please let me know!

I did some research on famous singer Rihanna who owns her own makeup line called Fenty Beauty. Her brand is  most well know for her extremely diverse shade range for her foundation line and how she makes sure to include all women when thinking about her products. I've bought makeup from her brand before and have been very pleased with the long-wearing and pigmentation of the products. I really admire how she makes sure that her brand is inclusive to all women.
