  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Transport Test Drive an Electric Bike
Half of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Private vehicles account for 60% of trips of a mile or less. Do you often drive short distances instead of biking or walking? If so, how might incorporating an electric bike into your lifestyle help you make more climate-friendly choices?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Women and Girls Research Barriers to Participation and Representation
What are some of the barriers that exist to women's equal participation and/or representation in your community?

    Grayson Early's avatar
    Grayson Early 4/04/2019 9:43 AM
I think we're lucky enough to be in a community that has very few social barriers compared to others around us. But I feel one of the constant barriers for such in every community is respect.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Reduce Animal Products
In your opinion, what contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other countries? What does this say about North American values and ways of living?

    Grayson Early's avatar
    Grayson Early 4/04/2019 9:37 AM
I think it's the amount of money is made off of it. Which goes to show how greedy humans are and why we're in this position of climate change now.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Materials Properly Dispose of Refrigerants
How do you address your own feelings of concern, fear or despair about climate change?

    Grayson Early's avatar
    Grayson Early 4/04/2019 9:14 AM
Whenever I feel concerned or fearful I make sure I do everything I can to stop myself from adding to the litter and pollution that has lead us to the place we are in climate change.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Composting
Producing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?

    Grayson Early's avatar
    Grayson Early 4/01/2019 9:29 AM
Most of my motivation roots more from the foods and seeds we're just throwing away, someone took the time to grow that, cook that, and there are people that need it way more than us.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transport Stay on the Ground
What was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?

    Grayson Early's avatar
    Grayson Early 4/01/2019 9:25 AM
The trip hasn't been taken yet but i'm sure driving will probably better and more fun. And to avoid planes you might want to avoid leaving continents :)
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Materials Go Paperless
What do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?

    Grayson Early's avatar
    Grayson Early 4/01/2019 9:24 AM
For my senior project, I'm showing that rather than throwing clothes away you can upcycle and reuse the clothing. Or even simply donate it to stores like Goodwill or Salvation Army.
