REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Use Learn about Temperate ForestsAs you learn more about the scope and seriousness of the environmental challenges we face, what impact does that have on your thinking and actions? What are the parts that feel overwhelming? What parts help you feel hopeful?
Mia Erickson 4/12/2019 11:46 AMIt makes me sad that people are using up the world’s resources without thinking that we are slowly killing the earth. What feels overwhelming is the earth will “expire” in 2050 at the rate we are using resources. What makes me feel hopeful is that people are noticing the problem we are causing and notifying others about it so we can stop. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Use Forest-Friendly Foods 1How is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?
Mia Erickson 4/11/2019 12:22 PMI eat a good amount of meat and products with palm oil and I eat little to no dairy or eggs since I was really little. But I could just cut down on meat and palm oil or substitute it for something else. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Generation Learn More About Geothermal EnergyGeothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?
Mia Erickson 4/05/2019 11:36 AMNorth Carolina can reinstate tax refunds for passive geothermal. The federal government could provide incentives like tax, refunds, reduced tax rates, or offer seed monies for active geothermal power plants. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Learn the Truth About Expiration DatesHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Mia Erickson 4/05/2019 11:10 AMSince these dates are just estimates to when the food will go bad, I will check out the food and see if anything looks or tastes wrong and if nothing is wrong I will eat it instead of throwing it away -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Share Bioplastic Disposal TipsWhat concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.
Mia Erickson 3/12/2019 12:11 PMWhat concerns me is how we've done so much destruction to the environment that we can't do much to fix it.
