I learnt from the ecochallenge (videos) Plants absorb carbon dioxide but when humanity destroys forests, the amount of plants decreases and more carbon dioxide stays in the atmosphere. I think that Deforestation is one of the major problems in the third world countries.

because of the ecochallenge I understand the term "deforestation" and his impact on our planet.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transport Try Carpooling
List some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

I used my car every day to go to work and school and sometimes I have gigs to play during weekends. Often for the gigs I always travel alone to places. since I have been sign up for the ecochallenge ,I become more aware about the climate change. yesterday I spoke to my band mates about the climate change and how I have been part of the ecochallenge; they accepted to go carpool when we are going to play.

now I am going to learn the difference between sell by, use by, and best by dates. Often , these terms are really confusing me when i am buying something.

I learn something new today about composting which is the combining and managing of specific waste materials so that they decompose.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Materials Recycle Everything I Can
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?

I never knew if 1 recycle glass bottle would save enough energy to power a computer for 25 minutes ... and I had never knew also recycle plastic bottle would save enough energy to power a 60 watt light bulb for 3 hours.
So I understand how important it is to recycle.

Now I become more aware about the climate change. By taking the physical geography class I realized how much damages we have caused to our environment.

Whenever I will receive a physical piece of paper i will scan it and save it to my computer or to the cloud which can help reduce time spent on searching for information, misplaced or lost documents.  Actually I pay my bills online in a way to avoid waste paper.

Awesome work!  The first step to going zero waste is REFUSING all the free stuff and handouts you get during the day.
