REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Advocate For Greener VehiclesHow does advocating for green vehicles in your community connect to your values? How might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the shift to fuel-efficient vehicles?
Michael Freddy 4/23/2019 6:37 AMWe all drive to get somewhere, imagine if we drove vehicles that did not emit garbage into the air. We would be in a different situation -
Michael Freddy 4/09/2019 9:41 AMThere are some pictures that will be uploaded later, they show the various involvement of students at our campus garden. It is coming along very nice. -
Michael Freddy 4/09/2019 9:41 AMMy class and I gathered at the campus garden and did some weeding and cleaning up around the area -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Research and Advocate for High-Speed RailWhat are the factors that influence your choice of transportation? These can include things like money, time, and convenience, as well as perceptions of danger or safety. What would need to change for you to regularly choose more climate-friendly options?
Michael Freddy 4/09/2019 9:38 AMGreat question, factors may include gas prices, availability of public transportation, amount of money i have, and traffic at the time I need to get somewhere. When i was in California, i simply used Ubers to get everywhere since gas was so expensive, and it was a great way for me to share a ride with another person. This eliminates the need for 2 cars to take two people, and instead uses one car carrying multiple people. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Install a Toilet BankHow can your region/household prepare for changing water situations in order to become more resilient?
Michael Freddy 4/04/2019 9:57 PMWe can do this in the dorms, or in the facilities across campus easily. There is funding available i am sure, and it would save money and the earth in the long run -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Social Justice Make School More AffordableWhy is it important that girls have equal access to education in order to reduce our global greenhouse gas emissions?
Michael Freddy 4/04/2019 9:55 PMGirls in my country barely know what rights they have, and that they have other jobs outside of being a wife that bare children and cleans the home for a living. These woman can get together and be a force for change around the world-
Michael Freddy 4/09/2019 9:34 AMI guess my country is actually the United states. Better wordage would be my parents country, Guyana. -
Wanda Knapik 4/05/2019 1:57 PMwhat country are you referring to when you say "my country" ?
-
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Social Justice Express My SupportHow could better walking infrastructure make your city both more enjoyable and more equitable?
Michael Freddy 4/04/2019 9:54 PMStudents around my campus wouldnt be as worried walking alone to the village to grab a bite, or pick up something from the store -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Zero-waste CookingHow are environmental issues like black carbon and other emissions from cooking fires or rudimentary cookstoves also human health and social justice issues? Why do these issues matter to you?
Michael Freddy 4/04/2019 9:52 PMIf it is coming the fire that i cook my food in, it must also enter my food -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Improve a Bus StopHow can you advocate for transportation systems which minimize environmental impact while also meeting human needs?
Michael Freddy 4/04/2019 9:49 PMThere are students who uber to places around my school area, there is a bus that also goes to those areas. if they can schedule their time around it, they can save money, and also help the environment. Money is the best motivator these days. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric VehicleReducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?
Michael Freddy 4/04/2019 9:47 PMCan you imagine paying for gas once or twice every couple months instead of a week? Yeah me either until I read about newer model hybrid vehicles
