Electricity Generation Learn More About Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?

Maybe one of these days we can invest in it by using it if we are ever able to build a home on our property. I certainly need to learn more about it as an option in our area.

Women and Girls Support Women-Owned Businesses
Globally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. How can you better support communities by supporting women? Can you share any past experiences that may help others take action?

I actually know a few women who run their own businesses. One is an ice cream and coffee shop owner. I very much enjoy supporting her and her business. I also do my best to refer people to other women I know who have their own home based businesses. I've known a couple ladies who sew that I've recommended for jobs or I've gone to personally. I do my best to promote these women on my social media as well even if I'm not buying from them personally.

I know several local women-owned small businesses. Beauty products, Herbalist, candle makers, stone and mineral vendors, metaphysical and craft products. In fact my Herbal courses are run by a women owned school!

You've bought stuff off Etsy from women haven't you? Like those linen outfits y'all wore to that wedding.

I unfortunately can't name in women owned businesses off the top of my head :(

    Food Learn More about Silvopasture
Had you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?

    April Garcia's avatar
    April Garcia 4/03/2019 6:25 PM
No, I'd actually never heard this term before. However, I live in an area where it is very common to see trees all over cattle pastures. (Of course I've seen bare pastures as well and I've often worried about the health of the livestock being exposed especially in this Texas head.) I think the biggest advantage is healthier livestock due to the protection of the trees, and healthier soil due to the fertilization of the ground by the cows.

Food Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

    April Garcia's avatar
    April Garcia 4/03/2019 5:46 PM
I have a better idea of how long I have to use something, and maybe even if I should freeze something in order to keep it fresh beyond its best by date so that it doesn't sit around an go bad.
