I will watch a video about methane digesters (also commonly known as anaerobic digesters).
Materials
Install a Low-Flow Showerhead
#46 Water Saving - Home
I will save up to 15 gallons (56 L) of water a day by installing a low-flow showerhead.

Kyra Garcia 4/22/2019 9:36 AMI have been so...inactive. but just like Andy said, the way I'm freaking out now since we only have 3 days left reflects the larger scale reaction of the people of this world realizing we only have a few years left before this planet completely dies. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Try CarpoolingList some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?
Kyra Garcia 4/22/2019 9:32 AMI always have to take the bus to school anyway, so it's not like it makes too much of a difference in my routine. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Use Muscle PowerHow do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience or enjoyment differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?
Kyra Garcia 4/07/2019 10:39 PMidk if this counts, but I walked to work and I walked back home instead of getting a ride from my parents (but I guess I only walked back since it was early out and not 11 at night...)-
Kyra Garcia 4/07/2019 10:40 PMI also always really enjoy walking to work regardless, and it's not even that far of a walk

REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Generation Learn More About Geothermal EnergyGeothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?
Kyra Garcia 4/07/2019 10:29 PMa basic summary--
no one:
scientists using the water under the earth's crust that's been heated by the core to generate a water flash (steam)-based energy system: it's gettin a little steamy in here innit -
Kyra Garcia 4/07/2019 10:15 PMWHY did I choose to join the challenge??? that's getting too personal. but posting this earned me 5 points so woHOOO REINHABITORS 2019!!! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Generation Learn More about Micro WindMicro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?
Kyra Garcia 4/07/2019 10:12 PMWell, from the video I watched, micro turbines don't seems to be very cost efficient or logical... they need to be structured a certain way AND they have to rely on consistent wind. I guess it depends on where they're placed though. But it seems that solar panels are a more reliable choice. -
Kyra Garcia 4/07/2019 10:10 PMI thought I was going to be more consistent in completing my challenges... I just hope I can do at LEAST 1 each day instead of every other day. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Purchase a Carbon OffsetA round-trip flight from New York City to Los Angeles emits just over 1.5 tons of CO2. What can you do to reduce the number of flights you take per year?
Kyra Garcia 4/07/2019 10:01 PMyikees...just bought me a nice carbon offset deal. spent a little more than I thought I would but i did save a lot of pounds of carbon -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Generation Spread the Word about Energy AlternativesWhat inspiration and wisdom can you gather from your family, faith, or community traditions that would help you in both communicating about and addressing our most pressing energy issues?
Kyra Garcia 4/07/2019 9:46 PMTalking to people is rough, especially when you have to do it multiple times.... explaining the same thing over and over again. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Recycle Everything I CanHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
