  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Generation Spread the Word about Energy Alternatives
What inspiration and wisdom can you gather from your family, faith, or community traditions that would help you in both communicating about and addressing our most pressing energy issues?

The current environment of heavily subsidized fossil fuels takes traditional american liberties away from our residents.  They have no choice but to provide for their families with electricity that someone else profits from. Distributed generation is the future for empowering the public to control one of their most precious resources.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Support Local Food Systems
Dependable fresh food, supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these (or other) advantages inspire you the most?

Supporting local farmers is a great way to improve my own health (high blood pressure) while also allowing the grower to continue their way of life in a changing economy. If the community paid the true cost of food, meat and dairy would make a much smaller, more sustainable contribution to our diets.

What does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?

I envision a sustainable community where the true waste management stream is robust and repeatable.  Waste comes from many forms including energy generation, thus making wind and solar (coupled with storage) the best solutions for our future community.  Food, transportation and economic development all carry similar social and environmental risks that need to be addressed at the grassroots level here in the SouthCoast.
