We enjoyed so much this challenge! The whole family is on it and we'll keep it rolling ! The kids are also so mindful about little things, for example every time we want to throw away something they check if there could be a second life to it. Every time they see someone on a bike they say "Drawdown!" and we all laugh! Congratulations for setting up such a fun challenge, and bravo for the website. So well done. A new smart way to reach out to a wide audience.

I've been bringing my own bags to any stores for years  and glad to see it is slowly happening here too!

While being on spring break, my boys took the habit of picking up any plastic bag they'd find in the street !
We also managed to avoid buying plastic water bottles and just refilled our bottles everywhere!
Talking about the Eco-challenge always brought fun and inspiring ideas.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Learn More about Silvopasture
Had you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?

The big advantage of silvopasture is that you cultivate many things and raise animals together under trees and at the same time not have to have a lot of land.
Properly-managed silvopasture can increase overall productivity and long-term income due to the simultaneous production of tree crops, forage, and livestock while reducing carbon emission.

"In the US, 45 % of pregnancies are unintended. Addressing population—how many feet are leaving their tracks—remains controversial (when it comes to Carbon footprint), but there is despite widespread agreement that greater numbers place more strain on the planet." Unbelievable. In the US, the current federal administration's open policy – widely supported notably by religious groups – is to defund Planned Parenthood, the national organization supporting family planning. The number of women in Congress, which has luckily increased dramatically in the last elections, might be a sign that the US legislative body will reach a point in the future where it will be able to tackle this issue from another perspective.

Today we showed both our kids the documentary "Just Eat It" (on You Tube) which brought a lot of talks to the dinner table! The kids are enjoying talking about the eco-challenge and look for ways to "make more points"... More to come...

What have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?

Didn't go for that walk with the snow today and preferred cooking (the right portions!) home with a fire bringing a cozy heat throughout the house...
    We'll do better tomorrow ha!

Yesterday at science Winson's class got each a radish from the garden and when his teacher wanted to pack them in individual plastic bags he asked: "why not use paper bags?" which she did! Yay Marie! Ban single use plastic on the campus!
