Mass transit systems that are convenient to use will encourage more users.  I saw a TED talk about a proposal for a mass transit system called 'urban cable'.  It addressed many of the issues that often preclude people from utilizing mass transit.

    Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?

I would rather use this money for a family vacation.  I have encouraged my sons to pour less milk in their cup and to refill them if they are thirsty for more.  In the past they would fill a large tumbler with milk and store the leftover milk in the fridge, then the next day they would forget about it and pour a new cup of milk.  It was so wasteful.

I completed an online energy audit of my home at the PSEGLI website.  I am still looking over the report to figure out ways that I can save energy in my home.
