REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and CitiesWhat are some of the benefits of making your home more energy efficient?
Kaila Goow 4/11/2019 8:04 AMAn energy efficient home means paying less money in the long run and also a more stable energy source. -
Kaila Goow 4/04/2019 8:36 AMEating vegan is healthy for you and the environment!! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationGeothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?
Kaila Goow 4/04/2019 8:32 AMI can invest in geothermal energy by researching different organizations that promote geothermal energy and buy the tools I need from the organization to install geothermal energy in my home. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationWhat inspires you to act on sustainable energy and other energy issues?
Kaila Goow 4/02/2019 8:23 AMThe idea that we can prevent the amount of carbon emissions going into the atmosphere drastically inspires me to inform others about sustainable energy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsWhat do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?
Kaila Goow 4/02/2019 8:13 AMI prioritize nature and a healthy lifestyle over the material waste in my life. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsWhat concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.
Kaila Goow 4/02/2019 8:12 AMThe amount of plastic we consume is so harmful and evil to the oceans that marine species are dying out. The idea that species in the ocean we haven't even discovered yet may be on the verge of extinction is tragic. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Kaila Goow 4/02/2019 8:08 AMNow, I can consciously refuse any waste materials such as plastic and reuse any sort of container instead of wasting them. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Kaila Goow 4/02/2019 8:06 AMI use straws and coffee cups, but instead I can use one metal straw for everything and a reusable thermos in place of coffee cups. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Kaila Goow 3/28/2019 8:37 AMThe expiration dates do not tell the truth of when food actually expires. The FDA requires grocery stores to sell things by a certain date and if it is not sold, it must be thrown out and wasted.
