An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?

This statistic is really surprising to me, I had no idea that Americans wasted so much money on food waste! I would rather use the money thrown out on something that I would be able to use often, like a computer or possibly invest the money into the stock market or a saving account.
