REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsWhat would a sustainable water future in your region look like? What needs to change?
Isi Hart 4/12/2019 8:31 AMEven if every person in the PNW installed a low-flow shower head and limited their showers to five minutes or less, that would make a huge difference in the amount of water that is used. Really, finding ways to limit the amount of water used in everyday life- like washing dishes, doing laundry, etc.- would make an enormous change, because every single person in the region does those things almost every day. I had thought that maybe having a low-flow shower head would mean that the water pressure would decrease, but that's not the case at all! I haven't even noticed a difference, so now, I'm going to try to implement low-flow or water-saving appliances as much as I can in my rented apartment! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportHow has your access to various kinds of transporation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
Isi Hart 4/09/2019 9:35 PMI have always had access to a car because my parents both had their own car and drove my brother and I most places. When I reached an appropriate age to begin walking/biking/taking the bus by myself, that is what I did for about five years. I acquired a car about four years ago, and because it's a Prius (and let's be honest, it's much more convenient to drive than walk or bus), I have been driving everywhere for the last four years. I really didn't realize my hybrid car still made such a terrible impact on the environment, and I'm excited to bus and walk everywhere that I can for this challenge!
